Description

The AIARE Rescue Course is designed for individuals who have completed the AIARE 1 course and wish to deepen their avalanche knowledge and skills. This stand-alone course is ideal for enhancing backcountry avalanche readiness and rescue capabilities. Regular retakes are strongly encouraged to maintain skills and stay updated on the latest rescue methodologies and techniques.

Following the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) curriculum, this course addresses the essentials of rescue fundamentals, survival statistics, survival strategies, and first response tactics. Participants will engage in both demonstrations and hands-on practice sessions covering transceiver searches, airbag deployment, strategic shoveling, and coordinated team rescue responses. Additionally, the course will delve into the different types of gear you can carry in the field.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to acquire or refine their avalanche rescue skills, ensuring preparedness and confidence in the backcountry.
